Baby Business: 14 Weeks

This week:
From head to bottom, Baby W measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and s/he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His/Her body's growing faster than his/her head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his/her arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his/her body. (His/her legs still have some lengthening to do.) S/He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Baby W's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his/her tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

How far along: 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: -26ish lbs
Maternity clothes: I joined the club last week.
Stretch marks?: None that are new
Sleep: if I wasn't getting up every other hour to use the bathroom it might be better.
Best moment this week: getting our doppler in the mail!
Movement: to early I know
Food cravings: fruit smoothie from Juice Stop. (tell me that picture doesn't look delightful)
Gender: I dreamed it was a boy.
What I miss: feeling better then sick everyday all day.
Milestones: being out of the first trimester!

Finally

I've decided to start putting up some information about myself, the boyfriend, and our bundle of joy in the oven (okay mainly the bundle of joy in the oven) and I suppose its time. I decided a while ago to start up on something a long these lines, mainly to keep family and friends in the loop on our expanding family and also because I usually have a lot to say and between work and a ton of other things I don't have a lot of time to say it to everyone. This is a really exciting time in my life and I'm looking forward to documenting it.
