Baby Business: 14 Weeks

This week:
From head to bottom, Baby W measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and s/he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His/Her body's growing faster than his/her head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his/her arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his/her body. (His/her legs still have some lengthening to do.) S/He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Baby W's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his/her tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

How far along: 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: -26ish lbs
Maternity clothes: I joined the club last week.
Stretch marks?: None that are new
Sleep: if I wasn't getting up every other hour to use the bathroom it might be better.
Best moment this week: getting our doppler in the mail!
Movement: to early I know
Food cravings: fruit smoothie from Juice Stop. (tell me that picture doesn't look delightful)
Gender: I dreamed it was a boy.
What I miss: feeling better then sick everyday all day.
Milestones: being out of the first trimester!
